Gozo Day Trip

Living on such a densely populated island, life can sometimes become pretty overwhelming, especially on D-Day. So after I voted in my locality, I decided to head up to the island of Gozo with my parents.

There was a hefty queue of cars for the ferries since many Maltese citizens were going up to vote - or, moreover, to get away from the celebrations the day after. However, once in Gozo all was as expected! Minimal traffic and a wonderful breath of fresh air. Gozo, especially during the winter months, is a very serene and quiet island where some of the most wonderful views and scenery can be found here.

During our short trip, we headed to Arkadia to get a little bit of shopping done. We then headed across the road, over to Mojo's for a bite to eat. The the small diner has a lovely homey atmosphere where they serve the most delicious homemade food! I chose to have the carrot and ginger soup as a starter and a salmon and egg baguette which was served with crisps and couscous as my main course. The serving size was pretty large and since I had my soup as a starter I left my dad to finish off my main. However, both were extremely delicious and I recommend the restaurant to anyone who is in the nearby location.

After we filled our bellies we drove down to the harbour where we caught a ferry back home. The weather had changed from warm and splendid to dreary and rather chilly. On the way back, looking down into the ocean I spotted loads of jellyfish floating in the water! Not a good sign for summer! But that was it for the day, we shared lots of laughs together and it's always great to get a break from everyday life, even if its only for a couple of hours. Until next time,

Forever and always
